As an Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising major at Central Washington University, I feel confident that my education has prepared me to be a successful fashion industry professional. The curriculum I have completed has provided me with a deep understanding of the fashion industry, including its history, current trends, and future directions. Through my coursework, I have developed a comprehensive knowledge of textile science, including the properties of various fabrics, their manufacturing processes, and the ways in which they are used in garment construction. In addition, I have gained practical experience through internships and other industry-related opportunities. These experiences have given me valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of the fashion industry, including merchandising, marketing, and retail operations. I have also developed strong communication and teamwork skills through collaborative projects and presentations, which will be essential in my future career. Overall, my education in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising has provided me with a strong foundation in the technical, creative, and business aspects of the fashion industry. I feel well-prepared to pursue a career in a variety of fields, including design, product development, merchandising, marketing, and retail operations. I am excited to bring my knowledge, skills, and passion for fashion to the industry and make a meaningful contribution to this dynamic and ever-evolving field.

Internship Experience...
My internship was done at The Finest Accessories in North Bend, Washington. The time I had as an intern was an incredible learning experience, providing me with hands-on experience in a variety of key areas within the fashion industry. Throughout my time as an intern, I have had the opportunity to develop and refine my skills in styling, trend forecasting, content creation, marketing, and vendor communications. I have gained valuable insights into the processes involved in creating compelling fashion content, from developing concept ideas and storyboards to executing photo shoots and editing final images. Furthermore, I have learned about the importance of staying up-to-date with current and upcoming fashion trends, and have gained valuable experience in analyzing consumer behavior and preferences in order to forecast emerging trends. My internship has also given me a deep understanding of the role that marketing plays in the fashion industry, including the importance of targeted marketing campaigns and effective communication with vendors.
